I am always interested in checking out a new Mexican Joint, today I happen to drive by La Palapa on the corner of 5600 West and 6200 South, expecting it to be like the many dozen other such "Mexican Fast Food" spots I've visited in this community.
I'm here to tell you, I was actually thinking about going back for Dinner tonight. However I'm still full from lunch, seriously I ate the whole Torta and it was enough for two easily.
I ask what the best thing on the menu was, and was told the Burrito Colorado, and the Cubana Torta were the most popular, so I chose the later. This thing was a monster consisting of Ham, Pork Leg, Franks, Sausage, peppers, avocado, tomato it was piled high, and tasted very good
The Quickie:
Service: Fair
Prices: Great. $4 to $8 Dollars
Quality: Super! Bread was fresh, meat was full of flavor.
Portions: One Torta will feed two people for $6.50
Atmosphere: Nothing great, a bit tacky but clean and new.

This time I tried the Pizza Steak Philly...tell me what you think...

Chicago Dogs!!
Some things Chicago just gets right, and that would be Pizza, and Hot Dogs, actually for the size of the city, it's a pretty sweet place to visit.
Recently Sonic Drive-in introduced some new dogs, one of which is the Chicago style, which I think is awesome, when I recently visited Chicago I had to make sure I had a dog or two, in comparing to the Sonic Chicago style, I give Sonic high marks however a real Chicago has a much better quality dog, although not all Chicago dogs are created equal, I did have a dog in Chicago from a small stand that was no better than the Sonic dog, and Sonic was half the cost.
I had a Dog at "Portillo's Hot Dogs" in Chicago that put out a great dog that was a meal in itself, and had an awesome Old Chicago atmosphere, I would make this place a regular if I lived there.
The Quickie:
Service: Great.
Prices: Great. $2.45 for a Chicago Dog, other items up to $6
Quality: Great Quality Meat, Price : Quality ratio is unbeatable
Portions: Big Dog
Atmosphere:Exciting lots to take in fun place to go

J Dawgs Review
What started out as a little hot dog shack years ago, has turned into an indoor restaurant and a popular choice by BYU students. I know this little place is one of my all-time favorite food establishments in Provo, Utah. J Dawgs sells beef and polish dogs for steal of a deal, too. At $3 you caan score a dog loaded with all your favorite toppings includung onions, yellow peppers, sauerkraut, and their famous special sauce. The special sauce is a good enough reason to visit J Dawgs in my opinion. It's a sweet sauce that deviates from your typical mustard and ketchup toppings, yet it will have you hooked for life. The J Dawgs menu consists soley of dogs, so don't go expecting fries. Your sides that come with a meal are chips and a soda.
Service: Incredible. I think the owner even works there sometimes.
Prices: Great. $5/ meal
Quality: Best dog you'll ever have. Hands down.
Portions: These aren't your typical hot dogs, they're huge.
Atmosphere: Very fun. Indoor seating now. They have a wall of autographs by successful BYU athletes written on their hot dog wrappers. :)

Iceburg Review
I don't usually go for the chains when I go eat out, but I LOVE Iceburg shakes! And on a hot summer day, a shake is one of my favorite way's to cool off. :)
I am not usually impressed with the burgers at Iceburg. In the pictures below, you will notice the Rodeo burger I ordered has a meat patty so thin that you can't even see it in there with that gigantic onion ring! I'm not the biggest carnivore, so I didn't mind the onion ring sandwich.
One thing my husband and I do for shakes at Iceburg is split one huge one. The price difference between the small and large is very little (so the small seems expensive) and there's a big difference in portion sizes.
Service: Good, considering it's a fast food chain.
Prices: Good. $7/ meal. Shakes are a bit steep.
Quality: Shakes and fries are amazing, burgers are sub par.
Portions: Pretty good. Shakes are huge
Atmosphere: Fast food type dining area with flat screen t.v.'s in some.

Moochies Restaurant Review
Moochies claims their fame to be from their meatball sandwiches, but we just found out from Guy Fieri that they're Philly Sandwich is the best in town. While I did find the Philly very tasty and better than most I have tasted, I still found Tony's Taste if Philly right up there with Moochies. To me, they were both delicious, I can't even say one was better than the other.
I was impressed with Moochies, it's a place I would go back to, which is saying a lot because I like to try new places. Their prices are hard to beat, too. You choose a sandwich for six or seven bucks (6") and then add $2.89 to make it a meal. And even better than that, you can choose what you want for your side dishes. For those of us who would rather get two sides instead of one side and a drink, this is your place! I got fries, which were coated with that yummy crispy outside (best fries ever)! I also ordered, the potato salad, I heard it was good and that was definately an understatement. It wasn't your average potato salad, it was very creamy and they used different seasoning than is traditionally used.
The Quickie:
Service: The place is pretty busy most of the time, but the service is pretty fast. Nice peeps.
Prices: Very good. $6-9/meal
Quality: A little on the messy side, but the flavors are fantastic!
Portions: You'll be filled to the brim with a meal.
Atmosphere: A little crowded, but there is outdoor seating. Fun atmosphere.
