Lani's Shaved Ice

Here is a hidden jem for ya. I was camping up Payson Canyon a week ago with some of our friends who live down in that area. On the way home they said we had to stop and get sno cones at this place in Spanish Fork. Now I'm not a big sno cone fan but they promised us these would be the best sno cones we ever had. Done deal.
I just love it when you find places like this that are a one of a kind. So these sno cones are not only gigantic in size, but there really is a hidden jem at the bottom...ICE CREAM! It was so yummy! So John and I decided to get large one a split it and we got Pina Colada and it had vanilla ice cream at the bottom. So good! I will most definately be returning to this place the next time I am passing through Main Street in Spanish Fork, UT.

Large Pina Colada Sno Cone with Vanilla Ice Cream.
(The ice cream is in the bottom part where my hand is).

Taste of Philly Cheesesteaks

Ok, I haven't been here recently. I was just thinking about this place the other day when I drove by it (it's right by my house). And, I can't believe I haven't been back, but I do like trying new places so it's nothing against this place. But. If you are looking for a good philly, look no further. This place will know your socks off. When we first moved over here to West Jordan last year, I went like three times in a month just because I was so impressed. I've had a lot of philly cheesesteaks and I REALLY like this place.  Usually I have two problems with cheesesteaks: the texture of the meat and the type of cheese. I don't know what these guys have done, but both are PERFECT! Now, I still haven't been to Moochies, which I heard was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, but I would be interested to see how it compares. I will definately let you know! But seriously, try this place!

Outlaws Pizza Review

Most places inside Yellowstone park will gouge you with high meal prices. We left the park and went into Gardiner, which is just at one of the park entrances and we found the prices of food dropped for the most part. But besides the prices being cheaper, the food at Outlaws Pizza was surprisingly good! I must admit, I judged this little po-dunk town too harshly. We ordered a half and half pizza and I really did eat an entire half and so did my husband! I wasn't that hungry, but the food was just too good to not gobble up while it was fresh. I'm kinda frustrated at myself for not taking a picture with my phone while I was there, I just spaced it. I will definately go back to this place when I'm passing through Yellowstone to eat!

So about the pizza, I can't even remember what we ordered. Just trust me it was good. And my thing with pizza is, I hate it when the crust is too bready. I like a thinner, crispier crust. Doesn't have to be thin crust, just not too thick. This was perfect and it tasted delish!

The Quickie:
Service: Couldn't ask for better. Very polite.
Prices: Low for what you get. $15-ish for a pizza
Quality: Great. Loved the unique pizza flavors
Portions: Normal. It's a pizza.
Atmosphere: Old. Dingy. But who cares.

Buddy's Restaurant Review

If you've lived in Pocatello (or in any of the po-dunk towns nearby), you've heard of Buddy's. It's a casual italian experience that will have you begging for more! Every time I pass through Pocatello I'm tempted to stop for some famous Buddy's Salad (it's a toss up between that and Jack in the Box;). The Buddy's Salad doesn't look like much but the flavors in their homemade dressing are out of this world. (It's their own recipe that you used to be able to find it on the shelves at your local grocery store). The salads are ginormous, so if you're planning on trying anything else on the menu, order a half. Our waitress was a weirdo hippee, a little pushy too, but she was good. I also had the Italian with Everything Sandwich and it was very delicious. Everything just tasted so fresh!

Famous Buddy's Salad: 3.95
Basically just a pile of iceberg lettuce with an occasional bite of pepperoni, salami, and provolone.

Italian Sausage with Everything Sandwich: 5.55
A sandwich with a delicious italian sausage patty and some other italian-y stuff like pepperoni, salami, and provolone cheese. Well worth the money.

The Quickie:
Service: A bit hippy-ish, slightly pushy, but good service.
Prices: A bit pricey for casual dining $10-$25/person
Quality: Absolutely delicious and fresh.
Portions: Average. Salads are huge.
Atmosphere: Fun decor. Small spaces.
